This is a really unique shot. It's not usual that you get a good shot of a kid playing chess with someone, let alone smoking a stog whilst playing. and the focus looks fine.

i don't know but, judging by the way the kid is smoking, he doesn't seem to be a smoker for a long time. i am not sure though, i just said this because i am a smoker and in 70% of the cases i can recognize "fresh" smokers..
anyway, very nice photo!

btw, WHY is everyone "amazed" by the fact he's smoking?...i mean, normally, he shouldn't, but remember, it's just eastern europe

I think people are missing the point here, because in my eyes it's not that fact THAT he smokes at his age, but HOW he smokes, and the way he is siting holding the table like he's in control. He's playing adult games, and to me that is the power of the picture.

yes, indeed. I originally focused on the smoke - the kid was like a chimney, taking the smoke out of his nose. But as i said, the focusing went wrong and i regret it..
